Estate Sales Manager

Job Description

Estate Sale Manager Aaron's Estate Sales | Ferndale HQ + On-Site Across Metro Detroit Full-Time | 35–45 Hours/Week | Weekends Required

Compensation: $21.10/hour + commission on sales performance. Current managers earn $55,000–$60,000 annually. PTO + Health, Dental, and Vision insurance.

The Role: You run the sale. From the first client walkthrough to the final reconciliation, you own the process, the timeline, and the results. You'll manage a crew of 3–5 associates, price thousands of items accurately and efficiently, and make sure every client feels like they're in good hands — often during some of the hardest moments of their lives. Some projects also involve home organization and decluttering for clients who are downsizing, restructuring, or simply need help getting their home in order before or after a sale.

Let's be honest about what this work looks like. You're on your feet all day — going up and down stairs dozens of times, moving furniture, working in homes that haven't had the AC turned on in months or haven't been cleaned in years. Some houses are beautiful. Some are tough. You'll walk into homes that are overwhelming, cluttered, and in rough condition, and your job is to turn that into a successful, organized sale. This is physically demanding, sometimes emotionally heavy work — and it's incredibly rewarding if you're built for it.

What You'll Do: Manage the full lifecycle of each estate sale — scheduling, setup, pricing, sale days, and closeout. Lead and direct a team of entry-level associates, keeping them productive, on task, and moving with purpose. Price and research antiques, collectibles, furniture, and household goods with an eye on both accuracy and speed — you can't spend 20 minutes researching a $10 item. Oversee home organization projects — sorting, categorizing, and creating functional systems for clients who need help getting a home under control. Build strong relationships with clients, keeping them informed and confident throughout the process. Negotiate with buyers on sale days to maximize results. Reconcile sales and deliver final reporting to clients and the office.

You're a Great Fit If You:

  • Know how to manage people and hold a team to a standard without micromanaging every move.
  • Can walk into a house and confidently price the majority of what you see — antiques, furniture, art, jewelry, kitchenware, all of it.
  • Understand that time management IS the job — you're balancing research quality against production speed every day.
  • Have a natural eye for organization and can turn a chaotic home into something structured and manageable. Are genuinely good with people, whether it's a grieving family, a client overwhelmed by their stuff, or a difficult buyer trying to haggle you down.
  • Don't mind getting dirty — you're comfortable working in homes with dust, mold, no climate control, packed basements, and tight spaces.
  • Can handle the physical grind — stairs, lifting, long days on your feet, and doing it again the next day.
  • Are available for weekends — that's when sales happen.

What We Offer: Hourly pay + commission so your earnings reflect your results. PTO + full benefits (Health, Dental, Vision). Paid training and development. A team that loves working together.

  • To apply: Send your resume or a short work history to Aaron@AaronsEstateSales.com with the subject line: Estate Sale Manager – Your Name.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year

Benefits:

  • Dental insurance
