Our Procurement Operations division, guided by the Sr. Division Director, includes four collaborative teams: Procurement, Materials & Services Procurement, Professional Services Procurement, and Construction & Facility Maintenance. We work together to ensure Metra has the resources it needs to keep the region moving.
Reporting to the Manager of Procurement, the Contracting Officer 1 plays a supportive and essential role in Metra’s procurement activities. This position assists with a variety of procurement processes and assigned tasks; helps review and prepare simple, low risk procurement contracts and documents; researches market and pricing information; strengthens vendor relationships; and ensures all procurement activities align with local, state, and federal requirements while safeguarding the agency’s interests.

The final salary will depend on the candidate's qualifications. Those with 8 years or more of required experience can expect offers up to the midpoint of the salary range. Metra provides full pay ranges so candidates can consider their growth potential.

Requirements
Metra is a railroad employer subject to the provisions of the Railroad Retirement Tax Act, not the Social Security Administration.
