Join a vital, high-volume Patient Care Laboratory as a Specimen Processing Technician I. This role is the engine room of our diagnostic services, responsible for the critical first steps of medical testing. You will work in a fast-paced, production-oriented environment where accuracy and efficiency directly impact patient care. responsibilities:
- Specimen Management: Perform general support functions including pre-sorting, centrifugation, aliquoting, and the pickup/delivery of processed specimens to various lab stations.
- High-Volume Data Entry: Accurately enter a minimum of 6,000 alphanumeric keystrokes per hour, ensuring all patient and test data is correctly logged.
- Compliance & Safety: Maintain a strict understanding of daily-changing compliance regulations and safety protocols while working in a biohazard environment.
- Logistics & Workflow: Manage imaging, microfilming, and "A-station" tasks with total confidence to meet departmental completion goals.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure all specimens are handled according to specific test requirements and client orders to maintain high customer satisfaction.
- Professional Communication: Collaborate effectively with all levels of staff to foster a positive, productive team environment.

Required: - Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Data Entry: Proven ability to enter 6,000 alphanumeric keystrokes per hour.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to sit or stand for long periods and remain active throughout the shift.
- Adaptability: Great flexibility to handle daily changes in demands, regulations, and staffing needs.
Preferred: - Experience: Previous experience in a production environment, warehouse, or high-volume processing center.
- Medical Background: Familiarity with medical terminology or clinical laboratory specimens (e.g., blood, tissue, fluids) is a significant plus.
- Technical Skills: Basic computer proficiency; prior experience with laboratory testing or specimen processing is highly desirable.
