Educational Technician II

We are seeking a dedicated Ed Tech I to support students and classroom teachers in a positive and inclusive learning environment. The successful candidate will assist with classroom activities, provide academic and behavioral support to students, and help promote student engagement and success. Strong communication skills, flexibility, and the ability to work collaboratively with staff and students are essential. A passion for supporting student learning and development is encouraged.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Works with individuals or small groups of students to provide instructional and assessment support with direct teacher supervision
  • Ensures a safe environment through consistency and communication with students and staff
  • Follows student plans as defined in written plans or as directed by the teacher applying approved techniques
  • Conducts, records and summarizes student observations as directed
  • Applies classroom rules, expectations, materials and assignments consistently
  • Uses educational technology to document and/ or support student learning
  • Maintains timely and accurate records of student work completion, behavioral progress and other areas following established routines and procedures
  • Prepares calendars, bulletin boards, and instructional support materials as directed
  • Alerts teachers to changes in student behavior or performance and makes minor adjustments to current intervention strategies
  • Directs student use of equipment and materials
  • Performs additional related duties as requested by the Building Administrator or supervising teacher

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Appropriate Department of Education Authorization
  • Experience working with children
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
  • Ability to work with computers and other educational technologies
  • Ability to follow multi-step directions
