Job Title: Chef de Partie (Part‑time, Weekends) Location: Lakeland Queen Paddle Boat, Rotorua Hours: 20 hours/week (weekends required; shifts can run until 8:00pm) Salary: $25–$32 per hour depending on experience Start: Immediate About us Lakeland Queen is a scenic paddle boat offering lunch, afternoon and dinner cruises on Lake Rotorua. We operate five days a week and pride ourselves on quality, friendly service and memorable dining experiences. *Role summary We’re seeking an experienced Chef de Partie to work under and assist the Head Chef. You’ll support food preparation and production for our buffet lunch and dinner cruises, afternoon à la carte service and event nights, maintaining high standards of food quality, presentation and hygiene. *Key responsibilities Prepare, cook and plate dishes to menu specifications (buffet and à la carte) Assist Head Chef with menu prep, portioning and stock control Maintain consistent food quality, timing and presentation during service Follow food safety, hygiene and allergen procedures Assist with inventory, deliveries and kitchen cleanliness/organisation Work collaboratively with galley/front‑of‑house teams during cruises and events *Requirements Minimum 3 years’ professional kitchen experience Proven ability working in high‑volume buffet and à la carte services preferred Right to work in New Zealand Able to work weekends and finish shifts up to 8:00pm Strong communication, time management and teamwork skills NZ food safety qualification desirable but not essential *What we offer Competitive hourly rate $25–$32 p/h (depending on experience) Regular part‑time hours (~20 hrs/week) with predictable weekend shifts Supportive small-team environment and opportunity to develop skills in cruise and events catering How to apply Please send a brief cover letter and current CV to kimberley@lakelandqueen.com
