Job Title: Medical Assistant
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our clinical team. The role involves providing clinical and administrative support to ensure efficient patient flow and exceptional care. This position requires experience in a cardiology setting and offers the opportunity to work alongside healthcare professionals in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
Ensure efficient patient flow and prepare treatment rooms and equipment for examinations.
Provide procedural support following department-specific guidelines.
Perform initial patient intake, including interviewing patients and families to obtain chief complaints, vital signs, and allergy information.
Record and update relevant patient information accurately.
Conduct daily Quality Controls for all Point of Care testing and obtain specimens.
Perform and record patient POC testing per policy.
Under provider or RN direction, track and retrieve patient lab/diagnostic testing results for timely provider review and follow-up.
Assist in the administrative functions of the patient prescription renewal process.
Provide cross-coverage for other clinical roles as needed.
Support departmental medical record audits and maintain appropriate inventories of medical supplies.
Stock and maintain patient-related forms and educational materials.
Utilize equipment appropriately and notify the Practice Manager of any equipment/facility breakdowns.
Ensure documentation is legible and within the appropriate MA scope and organizational guidelines.
Perform other duties as assigned to promote health, safety, and comfort.
Travel to satellite locations may be required.
Essential Skills
Medical Assisting Diploma
Proficiency in medical terminology and infection control practices
Experience with cardiology, patient care, phlebotomy, and internal medicine
Proficiency in appointment scheduling, insurance verification, and customer service
Competence in data entry and electronic patient records management
Ability to perform manual vitals, familiarity with holter monitors, and proficiency in conducting EKGs

Understanding of safety needs, risk management, and environment of care policies
Ability to ask questions, seek clarifications, and request assistance as needed
Work Environment
The position is based in a Cardiology office. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM, with an 8-hour shift including a half-hour unpaid lunch. The work environment is collaborative, with four providers present throughout the week. The role does not require weekend work. Candidates should be familiar with the use of medical equipment specific to cardiology.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $23.00/hr.
