Drive Recruitment is looking for a skilled Hydrovac Operator with a Class 4 licence to assist with civil and infrastructure projects throughout the Wellington region. This position suits someone who is dependable, safety-conscious, and comfortable working in environments with underground utilities. Key Responsibilities * Operate hydrovac trucks across a variety of civil construction and infrastructure sites * Perform vacuum excavation to safely expose underground utilities without causing damage * Coordinate and communicate effectively with site crews, supervisors, and other contractors * Carry out routine inspections of vehicles and equipment before and after use * Assist with general servicing and cleaning of hydrovac machinery to keep it in good condition * Follow site instructions Requirements * Valid New Zealand Class 4 Driver Licence (essential) * Prior experience operating hydrovac or vacuum excavation equipment is an advantage * Strong commitment to maintaining safe work practices on active construction sites * Clear communication skills and the ability to work well within a team environment * Good level of physical fitness and willingness to perform practical, hands-on tasks * Must be able to complete required pre-employment screening processes What We Offer * Secure, ongoing full-time employment * Competitive hourly rate based on skills and experience * Access to modern, well-serviced hydrovac equipment * Friendly and supportive team environment * Consistent workflow across civil and infrastructure projects Even if this role isn’t ideal for you, there are several other opportunities available.
