Junior Accountant

Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Junior Accountant provides support to ensure day-to-day accounting functions and processes. This includes Accounts Payable, performing account analysis and reconciliation, reviewing balance sheet and P&L accounts, ensuring deadlines are met, and performing other projects as assigned.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Processes accurate and timely vendor payments
  • Reviews general ledger accounts to the corresponding subsidiary ledger, income and expense accounts, and monthly entries for accurate coding and correct ledger amount
  • Assist AP team with month end closing tasks and journal entries
  • Maintains records and files in accordance with established filing system
  • Ensures that transactions are correctly coded and verifies their compliance with financial procedures
  • Maintains relationships with vendors and suppliers
  • Upholds confidentiality at all times
  • Must be able to sit at a desk and type for eight hours per day and talk to employees in person and by telephone frequently throughout the day
  • Assist with other special projects as assigned by Management

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Must be a self-starter with excellent interpersonal communication, problem-solving skills, and strong quantitative and analytical competency.
  • Must be organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Must have strong written, verbal, and quantitative skills and be comfortable working in Excel,

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent preferred
