Job Description

Walnut Street Theatre, America’s oldest theatre, is seeking experienced candidates for the position of Properties Manager. WST produces a five-show mainstage season which consists of three musicals, and two plays, two children’s shows, as well as various educational outreach tours. WST operates a scenic and prop shop with a full-time seasonal shop staff. The Properties Manager is responsible for all prop-related purchases, construction, and rentals. Duties include: collaborating with designers and directors to determine prop needs; building and maintaining props paperwork; managing allocated department funds and closely tracking all departmental spending; maintaining prop workshop and stock; managing IATSE and apprentice labor; overseeing installation and strike for all productions; and other duties.

Qualified applicants should have three years professional supervisory experience; demonstrated expertise in prop-related technology and techniques; familiarity with standard office and design software; and strong communication, organization, time management, and collaborative skills. This is a full-time, year-round position.

Compensation:

$58,000 - $60,000 with employer-paid benefits including single health and dental insurance coverage and life insurance.
