About the role

We are seeking an experienced Contract Specialist to join our healthcare consulting practice. The role is fully remote within the US. What you'll do
Core contract and solicitation support
- Review federal solicitations (RFI/RFQ/RFP) to identify requirements, risks, compliance obligations, and key dates.
- Prepare and maintain a solicitation summary (scope, NAICS, set aside, eval factors, deliverables) for leadership and proposal teams.
- Analyze draft and final contracts, task orders, and modifications for terms, clauses, and flow downs impacting performance and risk.
- Track and flag FAR/DFARS and agency specific clauses that affect pricing, IP/data rights, cybersecurity, small business rules, and reporting.
- Serve as a liaison between leadership, project managers, HR, finance, and external partners on contract related questions.
- Monitor and calendar deadlines (proposal due dates, option exercise windows, deliverable due dates, notice periods) and alert stakeholders
Subcontracts, teaming, and partner agreements
- Draft, review, and redline subcontract agreements to ensure proper flow down of prime contract requirements and risk allocation.
- Draft and negotiate teaming agreements, JV agreements, and NDAs with large primes and small business partners.
- Coordinate with program and finance staff to align SOWs, pricing, and deliverables across prime, sub, and teaming documents.
- Maintain a central repository of all partners, subcontract documents and track key dates (options, renewals, notice periods).
Compliance and risk management
- Verify that proposed contract language complies with FAR/DFARS and agency supplements, raising exceptions or concerns to leadership.
- Identify and document contract risks (scope, schedule, funding, key personnel, data/security, termination) and propose mitigation actions.
- Track and help implement mandatory flow downs for cybersecurity, small business programs, labor and wage requirements, and reporting.
- Support audits or reviews by providing organized contract files, summaries, and documentation of decisions.
Business development and proposal support
- Support go/no go reviews with clear assessments of contractual risk, competition type, and small business implications (especially WOSB).
- Prepare contract related sections of proposals (reps and certs, small business approach, subcontracting narratives, exceptions/deviations).
- Assist with pricing inputs that are contract driven (e.g., option structures, ceilings, surge language, ODC handling).
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher from a US accredited college or university
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in all matters related to contracts
- Experience with FAR/DFAR
- Experience with vendor/sub vendor contracts
- Prior experience working as a government employee or government contractor in legal and/or acquisitions preferred
