Development Coordinator and Events Specialist

Job Description

The Mary Parrish Center (MPC) is a nonprofit human service organization that is dedicated to providing transitional housing, rapid re-housing, and coordinated entry for survivors of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, stalking, or human trafficking. Our mission is to provide survivors of interpersonal violence and their children safe, accessible and compassionate housing with individualized care that promotes healing, autonomy and hope.

The MPC seeks a highly-organized individual with strong event planning and fundraising abilities to fill its Development Coordinator and Events Specialist position. The Development Coordinator and Events Specialist works closely with our Director of Development and Development Coordinator and Marketing Specialist as well as other staff to provide administrative support for fundraising. This position will have variable responsibilities supporting our fundraising efforts including our grant processes, events, reporting, community engagement, and database management. The Development Coordinator and Events Specialist is responsible for achieving development goals while keeping with the mission, values, and vision of The Mary Parrish Center. This is an exempt, Full-Time position, reporting directly to the Director of Development and Communications.

Responsibilities: Development

· In collaboration with all Development staff, develops and implements strategy to retain and grow recurring donor numbers and dollars; helps set annual goal and strategy to achieve that goal.

· In collaboration with all Development staff, develops growth strategy for new and current individual donors.

· Serves as point staff person for all in-person or physical events including Housing Hope, the Pickleball Tournament, and any new or singularly planned events.

· Leads committees and volunteers during fundraising campaigns and events.

· Writes, assembles, and submits individual funding requests, solicitation letters, acknowledgements, stewardship reports and presentations where applicable.

· Performs basic administrative duties such as filing, data entry, maintaining a filing system and more including support executive staff in preparing board documents, distribution, and meetings.

· Assists in scheduling meetings with prospective funders and donors.

Responsibilities: Grants Management

· Write and manage less involved grant applications and reports for government, corporate, and private foundations.

· Maintains our organizational grants/reports calendar

Responsibilities: Database and Records Management

· Perform and coordinate all duties necessary for the effective and efficient maintenance and utilization of donor database and record keeping functions.

· Provides administrative support for pulling and cleaning mailing lists for newsletters, donor and special event communication.

Required Skills, Education, and Qualifications:

· Commitment to the organization's mission.

· Bachelor’s Degree and 2+ years of fundraising and development experience.

· Experience utilizing donor database or sales/tracking client contact system.

· Excellent interpersonal communication, presentation, computer and writing skills.

· Excellent research skills, including the ability to synthesize large amounts of information and present it clearly through various dissemination strategies that can be easily digested by a wide range of stakeholders.

· Flexibility required—some evening activities.

Desired Skills/Qualifications [Not Required]:

· Prior experience working with the nonprofit industry and/or in the field of interpersonal violence.

Location: This position will work primarily from home with flexible in-office hours as needed. Our offices are located on the premises of our transitional housing program property in Nashville. Infrequent travel may be required for professional development trainings.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $58,000.00 per year
