* We offer a career pathway to be upskilled or to become qualified * The ability for extra earning through overtime and on call work * Based out of our Pomare Depot with work primarily around Hutt Valley The opportunity You will assist with the day-to-day operation of the drainage network, ensuring a continual drainage service with minimal interruptions. You will work on both the wastewater and stormwater networks to: * Ensure a free-flowing wastewater and stormwater piped network * Minimise sewage overflow and pipeline infiltration * Install new connections, complete network repairs, and clear blockages * Inspect and provide routine maintenance of problem areas within the drainage system * Construct and adjust manholes and pipelines What's in it for you? * A career in the water industry! * We offer ongoing training, development, and support to gain industry recognised qualifications/certifications * Company benefits (either Fulton Hogan or Wellington Water) * The ability for extra earning through overtime work * A commitment to your health, safety, and wellbeing * A busy, challenging, and fulfilling job making an impact for generations to come About you You will ideally hold experience working independently on a range of basic repairs across the drainage network as well as: * Experience operating small plant and machinery * The ability to use technology (i.e. iPad or tablet) to record information * A full, clean driver's licence is a must! Class 2, W,T,R advantageous * An understanding and commitment to health and safety in the workplace * You are reliable, and bring hard-working attitude * The flexibility to work on a roster than includes shift work/standby About us Wellington Water works in partnership with Fulton Hogan (an alliance) to improve three water services across the Greater Wellington and South Wairarapa regions.
