The Maintenance Mechanic - Packaging will be responsible of performing maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on packaging equipment and related infrastructure.Reporting to Manager of Packaging & Technology, the Maintenance Mechanic - Packaging is responsible for assembling, installing, testing, and maintaining packaging equipment, apparatus, and fixtures using hand and power tools. They will collaborate with Electrical and Automation Technicians, as well as other employees, to maintain equipment and optimize processes. Additionally, they will perform preventive and corrective maintenance while driving equipment improvements. The Maintenance Mechanic - Packaging will also partner with support functions to identify and resolve unplanned downtime events, as well as address quality, safety, cost, and other losses in the area using problem-solving techniques and a continuous improvement mindset. Responsibilities: Monitors packaging equipment for proper operation, makes adjustments and repairs to optimize machine performance. Inspects equipment and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes. Observes and diagnoses malfunctioning machines, systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown or operational problem.
