Practical Nursing Associate Instructor

Tennessee College of Applied Technology – Harriman is accepting applications for the position of Practical Nursing Instructor. Instructors must have sincere interest in teaching and nursing, enjoy working with people, and have the ability to deal tactfully with people. Instructors must have a high standard of personal and professional ethics and possess an understanding and appreciation of the role and scope of the school and program purpose.

Acceptable Credentials Include:

Minimum Qualifications:

· Current RN License in Tennessee

· Three years of work experience in a direct patient care environment

· Past or present experience in a long-term care environment

· Teaching experience preferred, or experience that can be utilized to effectively evaluate students, create lesson plans, and maintain student files preferred

· Must possess computer skills and the ability to utilize technology to enhance instruction

· Must have a clear background check

Abilities and Characteristics:

· Ability to complete professional documentation appropriately and in an organized manner

· Possess good judgment and decision-making skills

· Must commit to remain current in the evolution of healthcare and patient delivery changes

· Able to meet institutional and reporting deadlines

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required

This is a full-time, exempt position. Salary is commensurate with qualifications, education, experience, and in accordance with the guidelines established by the Tennessee Board of Regents.
