Peckham, Inc: Badging Specialist
POSITION SUMMARY
The Badging Specialist is responsible for managing the end-to-end identification of secure identification credentials for Peckham employees, clients, contractors, and government personnel. This role ensures accurate identity verification, badge issuance, and access control in compliance with federal, contractual, and organizational security requirements. The Badging Specialist delivers high‑volume, in‑person customer service while safeguarding Personally Identifiable Information (PII) and supporting secure access to government systems and facilities.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Processes applications for secure access badges, including required documents and PII, photographing, fingerprinting, and issuing badges.
  • Follows federal, contractual, and internal security policies to ensure only authorized personnel are granted or maintain access to secure systems or facilities.
  • Updates and audits the security database for badge issuance, renewals, lost badge tracking, and terminations.
  • Acts as the primary point of contact for personnel needing access, explaining policies and troubleshooting access issues.
  • Collaborates with Peckham’s security teams to revoke credentials, manage system access levels, and report suspicious activity or security discrepancies.
  • Collaborates with Peckham IT to request systems access.
  • Collaborates with external partners to troubleshoot badging system and individual badge functionality.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality and protects all Personally Identifiable Information (PII) handled during the credentialing process.
  • Supports Peckham’s mission by ensuring secure, compliant access to systems and facilities while delivering respectful, customer‑focused service that enables individuals to safely and effectively perform their work.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assists with facility security audits and spot checks as directed.
  • Provides support during security incidents or system outages.
  • Participates in continuous improvement activities related to access management and security workflows.
  • Promote Peckham’s vision values and services to all team members, staff, customers, and stakeholders.
  • Assist in maintaining organization wide quality standards.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
  • Comply with all policies and standards
  • As required by some customer contracts, Peckham employees may be required to obtain and maintain relevant professional certifications and/or security clearances as a condition of employment. This requirement will be determined based on the specific needs of contract.
  • Regular and predictable attendance are required of this position to support the team and needs of the operations.
  • Other duties as requested and/or assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 1–2 years of experience in security operations, administrative support, credentialing, or a customer‑facing environment.
  • This role supports federal customers and requires the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance - Moderate Risk Public Trust (MRPT) determination and Secret Clearance.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Demonstrated customer service skills, including professionalism and responsiveness
  • Knowledge of and commitment to proper handling of Personally Identifiable Information (PII) and confidentiality practices
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience working within government‑contracted environments or regulated security settings
  • Experience with credentialing systems
  • Proficiency in database entry and accurate recordkeeping
  • Familiarity with fingerprinting equipment
  • Experience using badge printing systems
TRAVEL
  • This position requires up to 50% travel on-site work and travel between Peckham locations to support security operations and employees.
