Job Overview: We are seeking a detail oriented In-House Surveyor to support project sites. Surveyors support electrical construction activities by laying out and verifying installation points in the field. This role works closely with electrical supervision, BIM teams, and field crews to translate model and design information into accurate, buildable layouts. The In-House Surveyor will earn between $36 - $38 per hour. The In-House Surveyor reports to the Site Project Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
Lay out electrical installation points including conduit stub-ups, electrical hanger locations, duct bank alignments, equipment pads, and underground routing.
Shoot and verify control points, elevations, and offsets to support electrical rough-in and underground work.
Coordinate field layout directly from BIM models, shop drawings, and design documents.
Collaborate with BIM teams to resolve layout conflicts and model discrepancies.
Provide as-built verification and field measurements for record drawings.
Support coordination with other trades to avoid clashes and rework.
Maintain survey control, benchmarks, and layout documentation.
Communicate layout information clearly to field crews and supervision.
Assist with layout planning to support schedule, sequencing, and installation efficiency.
Qualifications:
Experience in construction surveying, layout, or field engineering (electrical or MEP preferred).
Strong understanding of electrical construction methods, including conduit systems, duct banks, and support systems.
Proficiency with total stations, GPS, and layout software.
Ability to read and interpret BIM models, shop drawings, and construction documents.
Familiarity with coordination workflows between field, BIM, and engineering teams.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work in active construction environments.
Physical Requirements:
Stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or work at elevated heights as well as in confined spaces above- or below-ground level, such as: towers, vessels, scaffolding, excavations, etc.
Able to carry 50 lbs. of tools and/or materials without assistance.
Outdoor work in various weather conditions.

Position offers a per diem rate of $150 per day worked determined by project location and travel distance.
