University of Iowa Health Care, Department of Ophthalmology & Visual Sciences is seeking a PRN Ophthalmic Technician - Perimetry (GC84; 10%) to perform visual field tests, tonometry, visual acuity testing, and eye drop instillation. Job duties include:
Performance of Procedure
o Performs manual and automated visual field testing including Goldmann, Humphrey, Octopus, and Maia Microperimetry Visual Fields.
o Enters data into devices, PACS, and EPIC.
o Reads lens corrections from lensometer.
o Participates in research studies within the Department of Ophthalmology.
o May perform tonometry, visual acuity testing and eye drop instillation.
o Uses procedures, skills, techniques to prevent cross contamination and transmission of infection according to infection control standards, policies, and guidelines.
o Cares for patient with known or potentially contagious infections according to written protocols.
o Keeps exam room stocked with necessary supplies.
o Maintains and calibrates equipment properly.
o Uses supplies and equipment in a cost-efficient manner.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
Three (3) years of health care experience involving direct patient care including some use and maintenance of specialized medical equipment with at least one year of the prior experience at the level of a Clinical Technician II or equivalent, or a combination of related education and experience.
