Compensation: $26 USD / hour

JOB OVERVIEW

Reporting to the Senior Venue Operations and Market Development Manager, the Assistant Venue Operations Manager supports the day-to-day operations of an immersive experience. Acting as a key on-site leader, this role ensures the consistent delivery of a high-quality visitor experience while supporting staff management, operational execution, and coordination.

The incumbent plays a critical role in maintaining operational standards, supporting team performance, and acting as Manager on Duty (MOD) when required. This position requires a hands-on, adaptable leader who thrives in fast-paced environments and is comfortable working with large teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the daily operations of the venue, ensuring a safe, efficient, and high-quality visitor experience.
  • Act as Manager on Duty (MOD) on a rotating basis, overseeing front-of-house operations including ticketing, guest flow, retail, and guest engagement.
  • Assist in implementing and maintaining operational policies, procedures, and service standards with a strong hospitality focus.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and training of locally hired staff, ensuring teams are well-prepared, confident, and aligned with experience standards.
  • Coordinate staff scheduling, shift coverage, and day-to-day team management in collaboration with the Senior Venue Operations Manager.
  • Lead, motivate, and support front-line teams, fostering a positive, engaged, and service-driven work environment.
  • Monitor operational performance metrics, staffing levels, and service standards, identifying areas for improvement and supporting corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with internal departments, including technical, marketing, ticketing, and operations to ensure smooth and aligned operations.
  • Support crisis management and incident response, providing clear, calm, and professional communication during unexpected situations.
  • Assist in the preparation and submission of daily operational reports to leadership teams.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and operational regulations at all times.
  • Perform additional operational and administrative duties as required to support the success of the experience.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Professional certification(s) required: First Aid/CPR certification (an asset)
  • Minimum years of experience: 2 to 3 years in operations, attractions, or live/touring entertainment environments

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and support diverse teams.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience with scheduling, staff coordination, and front-line operations.
  • Familiarity with POS systems and basic financial processes (cash handling, reporting).
  • Able to adapt to a touring environment, including irregular hours, weekends, and holidays.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work across multiple departments
  • Interest in immersive experiences, entertainment, or video games is considered an asset.
  • Proficiency with Google cloud tools. (An asset)
