Ag Equipment Service Technician Join the best. Work with the best. Ace Machinery is seeking a high-quality Service Technician / Diesel Mechanic to join our team. We specialise in servicing and repairing John Deere tractors and agricultural machinery, and we’ve built our reputation on quality workmanship, reliability, and getting the job done right the first time. We’re not looking for average — we’re looking for someone who takes pride in their work, backs themselves, and wants to be part of a high-performing team. This role offers varied, skilled work across both workshop and field service, including: • Diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of agricultural machinery • Working independently in the field and as part of the team in the workshop • Delivering a high standard of workmanship and customer service • Representing Ace Machinery professionally on-site with customers This role is for someone who: • Takes pride in doing the job right — not cutting corners • Is reliable, accountable, and self-motivated • Enjoys problem-solving and working both independently and in a team • Wants to be part of a business that is pushing to be the best in the industry You Will Ideally Have • A relevant trade qualification • Experience as a qualified Heavy or Light Vehicle or Diesel Mechanic • Previous field service experience (an advantage, but not essential) • Mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic knowledge • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills • Good time management and the ability to work unsupervised • Excellent communication and customer service skills • A strong work ethic and willingness to work overtime or weekends during peak seasons What We Offer • Full-time, permanent position with immediate start • Specialised work across workshop and field service • A strong, motivated team of skilled technicians • Ongoing training and development opportunities • A well-established and growing customer base across Southland and Otago We are building a team who want to be the best.
