HEBRON SCHOOLS ATHLETIC DIRECTOR

APRIL 2026


THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS THE FOLLOWING CERTIFICATION & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Previous coaching and/or athletic administration experience
  • Proven ability to integrate academic priorities with athletic programming, ensuring students remain the central focus while utilizing sports as a vehicle for character development and academic achievement.
  • Ability to provide meaningful support and build positive relationships in a high school setting with all students and staff.
  • Strong aptitude in technology including social media platforms, EventLink, and FinalForms.
  • Reliability, good organizational skills, and ability to work well with all students, parents and staff.
  • Knowledge of Indiana High School Athletic Association (IHSAA) rules, regulations, and bylaws, including eligibility requirements, transfer rules, amateurism standards, and sport-specific guidelines.
  • Ability to ensure full compliance with all IHSAA policies, maintain accurate records, and effectively communicate expectations to coaches, student-athletes, and families.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development to remain current with updates and changes to IHSAA policies.
  • Strong leadership and visionary planning skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in staff recruitment, development, and evaluation.
  • Experience in conflict resolution and crisis management.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and decision-making skills.
  • Committed to promoting a positive, safe and inclusive school culture.

Salary: Based on training and experience.

Benefits: As per the current teacher contract.

Contract Length: 230 days per year

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide oversight and ensure accountability of coaches and student-athletes, including adherence to school, conference, and state expectations.
  • Maintain timely and effective communication, including consistent follow-up with coaches, staff, students, parents, and community stakeholders.
  • Plan and facilitate seasonal coaches meetings (fall, winter, and spring) to communicate expectations, procedures, and updates.
  • Supervise home athletic events, as well as attend and support away PCC Conference contests and all postseason competitions (e.g., sectionals, regionals, etc.).
  • Demonstrate the ability to organize, prepare for, and host athletic events, including conference tournaments and post-season competitions.
  • Coordinate and manage the scheduling of all team practices, contests, and athletic facilities.
  • Plan and oversee Senior Nights and other special athletic recognitions.
  • Promote student and fan engagement through events such as pep rallies, recognition/appreciation nights, and school spirit initiatives.
  • Coordinate event logistics, including scheduling and supervision of band performances, National Anthem singers, announcers, scoreboard operators, ticket takers, and other game personnel.
  • Participate in and contribute to weekly administrative meetings to ensure alignment with school goals and effective communication.
  • Provide real-time student-athlete recognition through social media platforms and school announcements.
  • Coordinate and oversee the broadcasting of athletic events through JED TV or similar streaming services.
  • Budget management and financial oversight for the athletic department, including tracking expenses, managing team and program budgets, and submitting financial reports.
  • Oversee equipment and uniform inventory, purchasing, distribution, and proper maintenance.
  • Serve as a liaison with booster clubs, parent organizations, and community partners to support athletic programs.
  • Recruit, hire, and evaluate coaches, providing feedback and professional development opportunities.
  • Monitor student-athlete academic progress and support eligibility requirements.
  • Foster a positive culture of sportsmanship, leadership, and teamwork among student-athletes and staff.
  • Maintain and update department policies, handbooks, and communications for staff, students, and families.
  • Support marketing and promotion of athletic programs, including event posters, programs, and social media content.
  • Plan and coordinate special events, such as award banquets, hall of fame inductions, or fundraising initiatives.
  • Other duties as directed by the Principal and/or Superintendent.
