REMOTE Billing Expert

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Billing Expert to support insurance billing operations on a temporary basis. This role will focus on the accurate and timely collection of insurance premiums for homeowners and renters' insurance policies. The ideal candidate brings deep hands on billing experience, preferably within the insurance industry, and is comfortable working closely with offshore resources to ensure billing accuracy, compliance, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee the end to end billing process for homeowners and renters' insurance premiums

• Monitor and reconcile premium payments collected across billing cycles

• Maintain accurate customer account balances and billing records

• Coordinate with offshore billing teams to ensure timely and accurate processing

• Identify and follow up on overdue accounts and issue cancellation or non payment notices as required

• Process and manage the return of over payments and credits

• Resolve billing discrepancies and customer account issues efficiently

• Ensure billing activities comply with internal standards and applicable insurance regulations

• Provide guidance, oversight, and quality checks for offshore billing operations

Skills and Requirements

• 5+ years of professional billing experience, preferably within the insurance industry

• Strong understanding of insurance premium billing, collections, and account reconciliation

• Experience billing homeowners and/or renters insurance policies

• Proven ability to track payments, manage balances, and handle delinquent accounts

• Experience working with offshore or distributed teams

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy

• Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate across teams and time zones

• Comfortable stepping into an established operation and adding immediate value

• Proactive in identifying issues and driving resolution

• Confident working independently while collaborating with global teams - Experience supporting or leading projects to set up or improve billing processes

• Familiarity with implementing or optimizing billing workflows or systems

• Experience documenting billing procedures or training resources
