The Common Good Vermont program (CGVT) at United Way of Northwest Vermont plays a crucial role in supporting Vermont’s nonprofit sector statewide. Common Good Vermont serves as the go-to resource for Vermont’s nonprofit sector and mission-driven professionals to share resources, build skills, and build partnerships. We support organizations with a wide range of program activities, including AmeriCorps VISTA Priority Areas of economic opportunity, healthy futures, & environmental stewardship. CGVT serves the sector of over 6,000 nonprofits that attend events and training opportunities, subscribe to regular communications, and share their stories.
Member Duties : In this role, the VISTA will strengthen and expand support for nonprofit organizations by contributing to projects that increase Common Good Vermont’s reach, visibility, and value to members. This opportunity offers hands on experience in nonprofit capacity building, communications, and program development. The VISTA will support the launch of new initiatives and help grow educational programming, online resources, and membership engagement that connect nonprofit staff with tools, training, and education. Key responsibilities include: • Support the planning and coordination of programs that strengthen nonprofit capacity • Gather and update nonprofit resources, including maintaining a web-based resource library and supporting the creation of basic guidance materials. • Assist with outreach and communication efforts and support efforts to increase awareness of CGVT programs and services. • Contribute to membership engagement efforts
