This position exists to manage and monitor the state and federal grants for the State Fire Marshal (SFM) division. This position will also provide information, support, training and technical assistance to grantees.

Employees may telework up to 50%, depending on the position and the needs of the division.

Minimum Qualifications

Two (2) years*of professional level work experience managing federal and/or state grants.

Previous experience with administering contracts with non-profit organizations, government identities and other grant recipients.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (i.e., Word, Excel, Access, etc.)

Knowledge of basic accounting functions and the ability to understand revenue/expense reports and review, interpret and analyze budgets.

Ability to work cooperatively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and underserved communities.

*Bachelor's degree in public or non-profit administration, public policy, business administration , accounting, planning, or other closely related field as determined by the agency can substitute for one (1) year of experience

Preferred Qualifications

Experience analyzing, interpreting, and implementing federal and state laws, rules, policies, and procedures related to grant program administration.

Previous experience working with city, county, or township elected officials.

Previous experience working with Egrants, IGX, or other related grant management database.

Previous experience with state financial systems (i.e., SWIFT, SEMA4).

Physical Requirements

Light: Requires occasionally moving and transporting such articles as file boxes and heavy hand tools or heavier materials with help from others and moving and transporting light objects frequently. Even though the weights being moved and transported may be negligible amount, a job in this category may require positioning self to move to a significant degree or may involve maintaining a stationary position for extended periods.
