CNC OPERATOR

Randstad Staffing is excited to partner with a premier fabrication shop in Alexandria, MN, to find a skilled CNC Mill or Lathe Operator. This is a direct-hire opportunity, meaning you are a permanent employee of the fabrication shop from day one, enjoying an elite benefits package that is rarely seen in the industry. Shift: Weekend Days Schedule: Friday, Saturday, Sunday  Hours: 6:00am to 6:00pm (work 36 hours, get paid for 40) Pay: $20-25 per hour

Key Responsibilities

• Setup & Operation: Perform complex setups and operate CNC Lathe and Mill machinery independently.
  
  
• Technical Execution: Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and job specifications to ensure precision.
  
  
• Quality Control: Inspect parts using micrometers, calipers, and gauges to maintain strict tolerances.
  
  
• Optimization: Adjust offsets and troubleshoot programs to improve cycle times and tool life.
  
  
• Safety & Maintenance: Maintain a clean workspace and perform routine preventative maintenance on equipment.
  
  

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum of 3+ years of experience in CNC Setup (Lathe and/or Mill).
  
  
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in reading G-code and understanding complex blueprints.
  
  
• Reliability: A strong work ethic and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced shop environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate Equipment Efficiently
  • Set up and operate CNC machines to produce parts that meet required specifications and delivery timelines.
  • Monitor machining operations and make adjustments to maintain consistent performance and throughput.
  • Accurately record part movement, run time, and material usage in the ERP system.
  • Identify and recommend process improvements to increase equipment utilization and reduce cycle times.
• Produce Quality Parts
  • Verify part quality by inspecting machined components against prints and specifications.
  • Change tooling, fixtures, and setups as needed to maintain precision, repeatability, and quality standards.
  • Troubleshoot machining issues promptly to prevent defects and minimize downtime.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to enhance part quality and reduce rework.
