CNC Mill/Lathe Machinist

Randstad Staffing is seeking a CNC Mill/Lathe Machinist to serve as the technical backbone of our machining operations. This isn't just a production role; it’s a position for a master craftsman who thrives on complexity. You will be responsible for the full lifecycle of a part—from complex setups to program edits—while serving as a mentor to the next generation of machinists in a clean, top-tier facility. What You’ll Do

• Expert Setup & Operation: Perform complex setups and operations on various CNC Mill and Lathe machinery with zero to minimal supervision.
  
  
• Technical Troubleshooting: Edit G-Code and M-Code programs at the controller to optimize cycle times and ensure precision.
  
  
• Quality Leadership: Maintain rigorous shop standards, ensuring all parts meet tight tolerances and high-quality benchmarks.

What You Bring to the Table

• Experience: 7+ years of CNC machining experience (specifically Mill and Lathe).
  
  
• Technical Savvy: Expert-level ability to read blueprints, understand GD&T, and use precision measuring tools.
  
  
• Software Knowledge: Proven ability to edit programs (Mastercam or similar experience is a plus).
  
  
• Independence: A self-starter mindset with the ability to troubleshoot complex jobs on the fly.
  
  
• Leadership: A desire to share knowledge and help others grow within the trade.

Responsibilities

• Advanced Setup & Operation: Perform complex setups for horizontal/vertical milling and mill/turn centers (multi-axis, twin spindles, twin turrets). 

• Process Management: Select optimal tooling, determine machining sequences, and set speeds/feeds for maximum efficiency and quality. 

• Technical Documentation: Create and maintain detailed set-up sheets for new parts or design changes. 

• Programming Support: Edit machine programs at the controller to optimize performance. 

• Leadership: Act as a subject matter expert by instructing and troubleshooting for less skilled operators. 

• Quality & Safety: Perform finishing work (deburring/sanding) and maintain a pristine, safe workspace in alignment with company values.
