The salary indicated represents a base pay rate. If the individual selected or the position is eligible for a pay differential (e.g., shift, security, or years of service), it will be added to the total compensation in your paycheck. A pay differential does not raise your base pay.
Responsibilities - What you’ll do
- Assist Social Services Unit Supervisor with onboarding and training of new staff in both APS policy and field training.
- Assist Social Services Unit Supervisor with completing case record reviews for team members in training.
- Provide technical assistance with APS Programs and Systems to Social Services Specialists.
- Serve as liaison between APS Quality Assurance and respective team to champion division quality initiatives and communicate feedback to each team member in a meaningful way.
- Work a case load with an approximate 25% reduction, focusing on protective services cases of greater complexity.
- Provides feedback on draft policies to division management, as requested
- Provides presentations to community organizations, providers, and the public regarding the services and policies of DSDS.
- Identifies and addresses unmet needs, determines risks, and implements protective service interventions to reduce risk and increase safety for customers.
- Assists the Social Services Specialist with identifying resources and utilizes creative approaches to problem-solving within the investigative and/or intervention process.
- Assists the Social Services Specialist with court proceedings and/or legal interventions.
- Other duties assigned.
Qualifications - All you need for success
Minimum Qualifications: - Two or more years of experience as a Social Services Specialist; or
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; and Four or more years of professional or technical experience providing social services or conducting investigations or audits of social service providers, recipients and/or applicants.
- Preference for team lead positions will be given to current members of the respective teams. Applicants applying for a team lead position outside of their current team will be required to have an office location within that team's services area and the ability to travel throughout that service area.
