Accounts Payable Specialist

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our corporate accounting team in Mansfield. In this role, you will be a key player in managing the full-cycle accounts payable process for our regional supermarket chain. Working within a supportive and collaborative environment, you will report directly to the AP Manager and ensure our vendor partners are paid accurately and on schedule.

Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities

• Invoice Management: Oversee the full invoice lifecycle, including matching packing slips and verifying invoices against Purchase Orders (POs) for both inventory and corporate expenses.
  
  
• Efficient Data Entry: Handle high-volume, daily batch entry of invoices with a high degree of accuracy and proper G/L coding.
  
  
• Vendor Partnership: Serve as a point of contact for vendors; perform monthly statement reconciliations and proactively resolve issues related to pricing, quantity differences, or outstanding credits.
  
  
• Disbursements: Facilitate the weekly payment process, including check runs and ACH transfers, ensuring all obligations are met within agreed-upon terms.
  
  
• Record Keeping: Maintain meticulous, audit-ready financial files while ensuring all processes align with GAAP and internal company policies.
  
  

Qualifications

• Software Proficiency: strong skills in Microsoft Excel and experience navigating ERP systems. (Familiarity with Oracle Fusion or Microsoft Business Central is a significant advantage).
  
  
• Education: An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting is preferred, though equivalent professional experience will be considered.
  
  
• Core Competencies: A sharp eye for detail, the ability to thrive in a high-volume processing environment, and excellent communication skills for interacting with store management and external partners.
