Lead Children’s Art Instructor

Lubeznik Center for the Arts (LCA) is looking for a dynamic individual with a passion for the arts to lead instruction for afterschool and summer programming.

Job Type: Part- time, contracted

Salary: $25/hour

Start Date: Immediately

Hours:

• During the school calendar year: after school hours, typically 3:30 – 5PM
• Summer hours: vary
• Frequency: 2 – 3 days per week, contracted hours vary

Location: Michigan City, IN

Job Duties

• Lead instruction of art curriculum/projects designed by LCA.
• Prepare supplies and projects before the start of each class.
• Clean instruction space and store art supplies after the end of each class.
• Demonstrate proper use for art tools to students.
• Travel between LCA and instruction sites as needed.
• Administrative duties as assigned.
• Arrive on time for scheduled classes/events, ready to begin.

Qualifications and Skills

• Experience with various art media and techniques.
• Experience in a professional educational setting is preferred.
• Excellent communication skills, detail-driven and organized.
• Confidence towards social interactions with students and families.
• Reliable transportation.
• Display a commitment for consistent attendance and punctuality.

The qualified candidate will be outgoing and upbeat, able to manage a classroom, even- tempered and compassionate towards children. They must be very reliable, well prepared, conscientious, and kind.
