About Us

Sugar Hill Farmstead is a regenerative livestock farm raising grass-fed, grass-finished beef and pasture-raised animals. We process and distribute our meat directly to families across Hawaiʻi.

This is a working farm—not a classroom. You’ll be learning by doing, alongside us, every day.

Position Overview

This apprenticeship is designed for someone ready to step into real farm life and build practical skills in regenerative agriculture, animal care, and food systems.

No prior farm experience required—but a strong work ethic and willingness to learn are essential.

  • Rotational grazing and pasture management
  • Fencing, repairs, and general farm maintenance
  • Assisting with order packing and fulfillment

  • Early mornings and physically demanding tasks
  • Repetitive movement, lifting, and long days on your feet
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs

This is hands-on, physical work with real responsibility.

Compensation & Living

  • $20/hour
  • On-site tiny home housing available
  • $1,500/month (includes utilities, water, and Starlink WiFi)
  • Access to farm eggs, meat, and vegetables (tracked), helping reduce food costs

Living on-site allows you to stay close to the rhythm of the farm and simplifies day-to-day life.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Reliable, consistent, and able to follow through
  • Willingness to work hard and take direction
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a small team
