Description:
The Science, Technology, Engineering, & Mathematics (STEM) Dean of Instruction
reportsto the Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs. Responsibilities include developing short- and long-range instructional plans;
recruiting,supervising, and evaluating STEM full- and part-time faculty and department staff; ensuring compliance with ICCB and
accreditationcriterion; leading new academic program development and monitoring program enrollment; providing faculty professional
developmentactivities; administering department budgets; developing, implementing, and evaluating curriculum and instructional program
planning. Homecampus assignment is Wabash Valley College with travel being required on a regular basis to the other campuses in the
District for meetingsand for faculty supervision.
Qualifications:
Master's degree from an
accredited universityrequired. Doctorate preferred. Successful record of quality college teaching experience, and an understanding and
acceptance of thephilosophy of the comprehensive community college with successful experience and/or potential for professional growth in
academicadministration in teaching; curriculum and instructional services; faculty development; recruitment, supervision, and evaluation of
facultyand staff; communication skills; technology skills (especially with MS Office programs) and effective working relationships with
colleagues.
Wages/Benefits:
Minimum starting salary of $85,000 per year, commensurate with
education and experience. Benefits include, but are not limited to: medical, dental, and life insurance; paid sick leave, vacation, and
personal days; and participation in State Universities Retirement System.
