Heavy machine operator

* Competitive hourly rate with weekly pay cycle * Work on a well-known Christchurch infrastructure project * 30-hour guaranteed contracts About the role You'll be supporting ground improvement works at the Christchurch Wastewater Treatment Plant. Operating excavators, wheel loaders, and skid steers, you'll assist with stone column installation, material handling, and general site tidiness. This is a 2-3 month assignment starting 16 April, working Monday to Saturday, 6:30am-6:00pm. Benefits * $30-$38 per hour depending on experience * 30-hour minimum guaranteed each week * Weekly pay cycle + 8% holiday pay * Consistent long days with Saturday work * Major infrastructure project experience Duties * Operate excavators for spoil removal and site clean-up * Operate wheel loader or skid steer loading stone * Support stone column installation process * Maintain clean and safe work areas * Follow site safety and operational procedures Skills & experience * Class 1 Full NZ Driver Licence required * W, T, R endorsements essential * Proven excavator, wheel loader or skid steer experience * Confident working long hours in civil environments * Strong commitment to health and safety Culture People enjoy working in this team because safety, teamwork, and productivity are valued.
