POSITION: Child Support Case Coordinator
WAGE: Starting at $17.00 with compensation for experience
UNIT: Child Support Enforcement Agency
POSTING DATE: April 9th, 2026
HOURS: 8:00AM to 4:30PM (with flex time and a hybrid remote work schedule)
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
40% CASE INTAKE
- Update data in SETS with new court orders and changes.
- Open new cases in SETS.
- Provide backup for interface changes (new and/or updates) between IV-D and IV-A.
15% PUBLIC INQUIRIES
- Respond to consumer (custodial and non-custodial) inquiries regarding child support.
- Answer routine questions/inquiries from general public.
15% EMANCIPATIONS
- Process emancipations for cases with children aging out of the system.
10% PAYMENT MONITORING
- Investigate problems/discrepancies on system data-web reports.
- Determine if payments have been applied correctly to customer accounts when inquiries are made.
- Make appropriate payment corrections when necessary.
- Audit customer accounts when discrepancy occurs.
- Make adjustments to SETS case as necessary.
10% WAGE WITHHOLDING VERIFICATION
- Verify and update customer data regarding employment, medical insurance, and child support income.
- Update SETS with information after contacting employer for accurate information on employment and insurance.
- Verify support income for public housing, loans, and utility companies.
3% PAYMENT RECONCILIATION – BACK UP
- Process cash and electronic fund transfer payments.
- Prepare bank deposits.
- Post cash and electronic payments to SETS.
- Prepare daily bank package for pick-up.
- Prepare daily balance reports.
2% LUMP SUM ATTACHMENTS – BACK UP
- Initiate lump sum attachments.
5% MISCELLANEOUS
- Keep abreast of child support program laws, policies, and procedures and miscellaneous functions.
- Provide referrals to community partners.
- Complete mail processing and scanning for the Unit, deciphering the information, and routing to the correct caseworker.
- In rotation for the post office and bank run.
- Attend meeting, seminars, trainings to enhance knowledge of public assistance programs.
- Other job duties as deemed necessary to achieve organizational vision/mission.
SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Competent with solid math skills, reasoning, and logic.
- Confident with speaking directly to people and able to maintain composure with disgruntled customers and the ability to de-escalate client behavior.
- Ability to multi-task by using multiple systems, phones, policies and procedures, and resource guides.
- Computer experience and ability to type 30-plus words a minute.
- Excellent comprehension - the ability to read, understand, and act on orders and policy.
- Deadline Driven; Goal Oriented.
- Works well with others including partner agencies and co-workers.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent (*this is not a social worker position).
- Experience in accounting, banking, collections, or a related field a plus.
- Passing background checks, physical and drug screen.
- Clean driving record with a valid Driver’s License.
- 40 hours a week.
