Job Description:The UNI@DMACC partnership is a collaborative program between the University of Northern Iowa and Des Moines Area Community College that expands access to high-quality, affordable educational opportunities in central Iowa. This partnership provides seamless access for students completing their associate's degrees to finish their bachelor's degrees online through UNI.
UNI@DMACC helps realize UNI's vision of providing affordable and high-quality educational opportunities to learners who may not have easy access to a four-year degree due to their location, job or life commitments, but who need the degree and training to succeed in Iowa's high-demand workforce.
Primary Function: Recruits new transfer students to the University for both online and residential programs (with a primary focus on online programs) within a designated community college territory; advises students on admissions process and application status, tuition and fees, scholarships, academic program offerings, etc.; builds strong professional relationships with advisors, faculty, staff, and community members in the Community College district; provides ongoing mentoring and guidance for Community College transfer students; assists with college fairs and other university recruitment events; prepares data-based reports; and evaluates transfer credit and utilizes CRM and student information systems to manage recruitment territory and for other designated duties.
This position will be based in Des Moines, IA, primarily working with Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) and Indian Hills Community College (IHCC) students with regular travel to IHCC.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required. Spring 2026 graduates will be considered. Degree must be conferred prior to start date. At least one year of experience in a related student services field such as student success, admissions, residence life, or academic advising also required. Student experience will be considered. Occasional work outside normal work hours and regular travel will be necessary.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with admission recruitment processes and procedures such as tour guide, phone bank, telecounseling, office worker, or orientation leader; experience using social media in a professional setting; and experience conducting individual or group presentations to student and families preferred.
