A premier national provider of critical infrastructure and power solutions is seeking a high-energy Accounts Payable Lead to anchor our AP operations. This is a "player-coach" role designed for a professional who enjoys mentoring a team while staying hands-on with high-volume, multi-currency financial processes.

You will report directly to the Corporate Controller and serve as a key driver of AP workflows, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across all corporate entities.

responsibilities:
  • Oversee daily AP operations, review staff performance, and provide technical training and support to the team.
  • Manage and assist in processing high volumes of multi-currency vendor invoices to ensure timely and accurate payments.
  • Execute and oversee the three-way match process (purchase order, receiving report, and invoice) to ensure accuracy before payment authorization.
  • Help develop and maintain systems and procedures to optimize AP workflows and improve departmental efficiency.
  • Oversee the monthly closing of financial records and the posting of month-end information.
  • Monitor daily AP functions and maintain internal controls to ensure adherence to company guidelines and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual 1099 forms while collaborating with auditors to ensure accurate reporting.
  • Build strong relationships with vendors and serve as the primary point for resolving complex invoice or payment discrepancies.

qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience within the Accounts Payable field with demonstrated leadership or supervisory skills.
  • Extensive understanding of accounting principles, standard AP procedures, and matching protocols.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software. Experience with ERP systems is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
