Are you an expert in Yardi Voyager with a passion for real estate accounting? We are representing a prominent property management firm seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Manager to lead their regional portfolio's financial operations.

This is a pivotal role managing a diverse portfolio of approximately 1,500 units, overseeing a small, dedicated team, and ensuring the highest standards of financial integrity.

The Opportunity

As the Accounting Manager, you will own the full-cycle accounting process and serve as a key financial partner to the property operations team. You will drive the month-end close and ensure that all reporting is both timely and accurate.

• Portfolio Oversight: Manage full-cycle accounting for a substantial multifamily portfolio, including GL maintenance and complex account reconciliations.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare and review comprehensive monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and schedules.
• Team Leadership: Direct and mentor a small accounting staff, overseeing daily AP/AR activities, rent rolls, and tenant ledgers.
• Budgeting & Analysis: Perform variance analysis against budgets/forecasts and collaborate with property managers to streamline expense coding.
• Internal Controls: Maintain and enforce rigorous accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Audit & Tax Support: Provide essential documentation and schedules to support year-end audits and tax filings.
• System Integrity: Utilize Yardi for all accounting functions, ensuring data integrity and identifying process improvements.

 
qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Experience: 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, specifically within the multifamily or real estate sectors.
• Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Yardi Voyager is required.
• Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of real estate accounting principles and hands-on experience with month-end close processes.
• Soft Skills: Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with a proven ability to work cross-functionally with operations teams
