POSITION TITLE: Special Programs Coordinator - Massachusetts Skills, Training, Education (MassSTEP) Programs
DEPARTMENT: Economic and Business Development/Adult Education
PRIMARY LOCATION: Fall River, with periodic travel to Bristol's Attleboro, New Bedford and Taunton locations and local adult education programs.
POSITION STATUS: This is a part time, grant funded, 26 hours per week, MCCC/MTA, unit position with benefits. This position is funded for 52 weeks per year. This position is subject to grant budget appropriations.
REPORTS TO: Associate Director, Transition to College programs.
SALARY: $36.55 per hour
STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
The Community/Outreach Counselor provides day-to-day management of Bristol's Massachusetts Skills, Training, Education Programs (MassSTEP). MassSTEP is a service approach that provides adult education and literacy activities concurrently and contextually with workforce preparation activities and workforce training for a specific occupation for the purpose of educational and career advancement. Bristol's current programs prepare students for entry level positions in the field of Clean Water Technology and Certified Nursing Assistant. This position works in cooperation with both the Adult Education department and for-credit divisions of the college to provide opportunities for Adult Education students to pursue career pathways in in-demand industries. This position encompasses program management in conjunction with direct student service. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, managing day-to-day program operations, as well as providing a continuum of advising services that support student success. The work schedule would be primarily days, with occasional evenings and weekends as required.

Bachelor's degree in Education, Counseling, Psychology, Business Administration, Mathematics, Computer Science, or other field related to area of assignment; with three (3) years experience and/or training involving area of assignment, which may include college registration, academic advisement, career development, career experience, training, curriculum development, audio/visual or graphic production, grant administration, budget development, program/project management, event planning, administrative work in an academic environment, or personal computer operations; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
