Role Description

Riley Pope & Laney is currently seeking a bankruptcy paralegal to fill a full-time, on-site position in our Columbia, South Carolina office. The bankruptcy paralegal will be responsible for preparing legal documents, maintaining bankruptcy files, managing hearing calendars, and assisting attorneys in the preparation, filing, and handling of bankruptcy filings for creditors. The ideal candidate will be a team player, detail-oriented, organized, self-motivated, self-managed, have excellent written and verbal communication skills and a high aptitude for learning new computer programs. The position requires knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Office Suite, CM/ECF, and pacer. Pay for this position will be determined by experience.

Requirements:

• High school diploma
• Paralegal certificate or experience in a law firm
• 3 or more years experience as a legal assistant or paralegal

Preferred:

• Experience in bankruptcy or related areas of law
• Knowledge of federal courts and court procedures
