Duties Description Under the supervision of a higher-level supervisor or Park Management, the Park & Recreation Aide 1-5:Maintain grounds, roadways, walkways and paths. Clear flower beds of debris and litter, prep and maintain gardens for planting and upkeep. Clean grounds and structures by sweeping, raking, shoveling, mowing, removing debris, leaves, branches, snow, ice or trash. Cutting grass, cleaning comfort stations, rest rooms, and buildings. Direct the parking of cars during large events. Employees may also provide patrons with information regarding park facilities and use, perform routine office tasks such as filing, copying, answering telephones. Sell tickets to park patrons; make change and prepare standard reports of daily receipts by reconciling money received with the value of the tickets issued.The duties of this position may also include but are not limited to the following (depending on the work site/assignment): - Parks & Recreation Aide 1 ($16.00/hour): o General maintenance, landscaping, mowing, weed whacking, garbage collection.- Parks & Recreation Aide 2 ($17.62/hour): o Also perform the tasks of the PRA 1. Maintains grounds, roads, and trails; clears shrubs, grass, leaves and debris; bathroom cleaning, snow/ice removal, litter removal, Could perform booth operations and cash collection.- Parks & Recreation Aide 3 ($18.19/hour): o Also perform the tasks of the PRA 2. Maintains grounds, roads and trails, assists patrons with general information, toll booth, litter and trash removal, bathroom cleaning, fixes and repairs, event set up, direct parking for vehicle entry, could include light office duties, phones. Could perform booth operations and cash collection.- Parks & Recreation Aide 4 ($19.04/hour): o Perform the duties of PRA 1-3, as well as function as crew leaders, giving instructions and providing assistance to lower-level seasonal staff. Perform additional tasks such as crew leader, shift lead, head cashier, and park operations.- Parks & Recreation Aide 5 ($20.45/hour): o Perform the duties of PRA 1-4, as well as higher volume of tasks.
