Nano Analytical and Testing Lab Technician

Ebatco is seeking an energetic, self-disciplined, customer service oriented technical person to join its Nano Analytical and Testing Laboratory (NAT Lab) to support its customers in the lab and field. As a technical member of the NAT Lab team, the technician performs contract lab services and instrument demonstrations with appropriate levels of support and supervision, operates advanced nano/micro scale scientific instruments, collects testing and measurement data, and writes technical report on experimental results and observations. He/she is also expected to travel to the customers’ sites for instrument installation, training, preventative maintenance and other customer support and service-related duties.

Requirements:

• BS degree in Materials Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics and other related scientific disciplines
• One to two years of experience working in the lab environment or with advanced instruments
• General understanding and knowledge of material properties, surfaces and interfaces, nanoscience and nanotechnology
• Excellent technical written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to travel up to 30% of time via car and/or air travel
• Customer service and interface experience, a plus

Responsibilities:

• Perform customer contract lab services with support and supervision
• Perform instrument demonstration and analytical services to support instrument sales
• Operate advanced nano/micro scale analytical and scientific instruments according to analysis protocols and operating manuals
• Collect testing and measurement data and record observations
• Writes technical reports on experimental results and preliminary analysis
• Maintain testing and analytical instruments in optimal operating conditions
• Answer customer instrument operational and application related questions via phone, email, online meeting, etc.
• Perform installation and training for instrument products sold to customers in the field
• Perform instrument preventative maintenance and inspection at customer’s facilities
• Provide office administrative support and technical sales support when needed
