Multiple factors, including Individual experience, skills and abilities will determine where an employee is ultimately placed in the pay range. Variable pay may provide additional opportunities for financial awards. This job is eligible to participate in IP's short-term and long-term incentive plans.

The Job You Will Perform:
The Fiber Solutions Group Leader will manage all aspects of the Fiber Solutions group, actively working across the business to support tactical and strategic initiatives that improve results and drive business strategy to achieve or exceed targeted performance levels. This involves prioritizing business needs and allocating the group's resources; partnering with mill and Fiberline leadership to develop site-specific priorities, goals, and metrics; and coordinating efforts with other groups to maximize the effectiveness of the Technology effort. This role is also responsible for recruiting, training, mentoring, and career development of the group staff.
This position may support confidential business-planning initiatives such as strategic rationalization studies, and acquisition due diligence reviews.
The Fiber Solutions Group Leader provides internal customers 24/7 owner-loyal process expertise in improving manufacturing operations, restoring interrupted service, and providing start-up support to major capital projects. The leader drives disciplined problem solving using PDCA and data-based approaches, reinforces standard work and prioritization, and ensures clear communication of action plans and lessons learned. These groups may support international operations and global travel may be expected. Total travel may be up to 75%.
The Skills You Will Bring:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, Paper Science, or Related Business Field is preferred, industry experience will be considered.
Minimum of 15 years of pulp and paper industry experience, with at least 10 years in fiberline and/or pulp manufacturing operations.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate to groups and individuals at all levels.
Demonstrated leadership focused on accountability and results.
Thorough knowledge of paper mill operations and processes.
Ability to lead 80/20 strategy deployment and PDCA processes.
Familiarity developing a vision, strategic gap assessments, and tactical gap-closure plans.
Prior experience with standard work and prioritization to support enterprise implementation.
Demonstrated ability to build and deploy role-based training and onboarding roadmaps (e.g., 30/60/90-day plans), including clear expectations, coaching touchpoints, and measurable outcomes.
Strong mentoring mindset-leverages SMEs, facilitates structured feedback loops, and continuously improves learning materials using 80/20 principles and lessons learned.
Comfortable using simple visual management and project tracking tools (e.g., milestone plans) to communicate progress, risks, and next steps to stakeholders.
Proven ability to align leaders and partners early, anticipate questions, and communicate a clear approach that drives adoption across multiple mills.
Basic computer skills with Microsoft office and the ability to learn new operating systems for data collection and analysis.
Strong analytical troubleshooting skills and the ability to use organized data based approaches to resolve issues.
