Under general supervision, this position performs tasks required for the delivery of stage services in a full-service, multi-purpose arts center. *This position performs duties deemed to be safety sensitive. Employees holding this position participate in pre-employment and random drug testing under Town’s policies*

This job description does not constitute an employment agreement and the Town may change these duties at any time.Assists in the assembly and disassembly of lighting, sound and scenic elements, and band gear. Constructs risers and musical equipment as well as other specialized theatrical equipment. Assists with the loading and unloading of trucks. Assist in the production of live events including the operation of theatrical equipment including spotlights and other lighting, video and projection elements and moving scenery. Assists with the proper maintenance of theatrical equipment and, in addition, maintains a safe working facility for employees and patrons. May act as a Stage Manager for some events; may perform supervisory duties while assisting in these tasks.Responsible for having a general understanding of and receives cross-training in all facility operations, including technical equipment, box office and concessions; may serve in these capacities as needed. Ensures compliance with Town and Departmental policies and procedures.Performs other related duties as assigned.

Use of specialized tools or equipment may also be necessary, including but not limited to technical devices, mechanical tools, heavy equipment, machinery, public-safety-related items, or other industry-specific systems. If required by the position, the employee may operate a personal or Town-owned vehicle.General and Sensory RequirementsThe employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and use hands and fingers to handle or operate objects, tools, or controls. Duties may also require stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing stairs or ladders, and maintaining balance. The employee must be able to talk and hear effectively, both in person and over the phone, and must be capable of operating a vehicle if required by the role. Vision requirements include consistent near and far visual acuity, depth perception, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus to allow a broad field of vision.Heavy Physical DemandsThis position requires sustained and demanding physical activity. The employee must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to fifty (50) pounds frequently and more than one hundred (100) pounds occasionally with assistance. EnvironmentPhysical presence onsite is required. Work is primarily performed in a climate-controlled office environment, but the employee may occasionally work in varied indoor and outdoor locations. The noise level is typically moderate but may be loud during events. This position occasionally involves work in inclement weather, including extreme heat, cold, wind, or precipitation.
