Job Description
Hybrid role based in Perrysburg, Ohio
We are seeking a results-driven Indirect Procurement Specialist to support and lead sourcing initiatives across MRO and indirect spend. This Specialist’s scope of work includes critical indirect categories such as Lubricants, Gases, and Facility Services that directly enable safe, continuous plant operations. This role plays a key role in executing and continuously improving procurement strategies across 16 North American manufacturing sites in partnership with plant stakeholders, while also contributing to global sourcing initiatives.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong understanding of MRO categories and will be adept at driving cost savings, supplier performance, and operational efficiency. Procurement creates value by ensuring OI receives the right goods and services, at the best total cost, with the least risk—while enabling plants to operate reliably and profitably. This role directly supports that value through measurable EBIT savings delivery and disciplined execution.

Responsibilities:
Strategic Sourcing & Category Management
- Support and lead RFx events and sourcing projects across assigned MRO and indirect categories (e.g., lubricants, industrial gases, facility services).
- Execute category strategies aligned with business objectives, leveraging market knowledge, supplier capabilities, and total cost of ownership principles.
- Partner with plant maintenance, engineering, and operations teams to align specifications, service requirements, and sourcing decisions.
Supplier & Contract Management
- Manage day to day supplier relationships to ensure service levels, pricing, and contract terms are consistently met.
- Support contract negotiations, implementation, and ongoing compliance in partnership with Procurement leadership and Legal.
- Proactively resolve supplier issues related to delivery, quality, safety, and service before they escalate to plant disruptions.
Savings Delivery & Performance Tracking
- Deliver measurable EBIT and value-creation savings through disciplined sourcing execution, contract compliance, and Finance-aligned tracking.
- Track savings, inflation recovery, and project outcomes using established Procurement reporting tools and KPI reports.
- Monitor preferred supplier adoption and identify opportunities to reduce price variance and cost leakage.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Serve as a primary procurement contact for assigned plants and categories.
- Work closely with Finance, Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering to ensure sourcing decisions support plant operations and financial goals.
- Participate in global or cross regional sourcing initiatives, sharing best practices and lessons learned.
Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree preferred in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or indirect/MRO buying.
- Working knowledge of sourcing processes, RFx execution, contract fundamentals, and supplier performance management.
- Strong communication and problem solving skills with the ability to work effectively across plants and functions.
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and ERP systems (SAP preferred).
- Experience with data analysis, spend visibility, and basic savings tracking.
Preferred Experience
- Experience supporting MRO or technical indirect categories, including industrial supplies, OEM/aftermarket parts, services, or facility-related spend.
- Exposure to lubricants, industrial gases, facility services, or other safety critical indirect categories.
- Experience working in a manufacturing, industrial, or multisite environment.
- SAP or similar ERP platforms / Microsoft Office / Power BI

Salary Range: The expected salary range for this position will be between $65,000 - $75,000. Actual pay will be adjusted based upon candidate experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
