Position: Snowflake Database Architect

Location: Boston, MA or Woodbridge, NJ – 4 days/week onsite
Experience: 12+ Years

Job Description:
You will help move, maintain, update, and support different database systems. You will also work closely with other teams like software developers, security, and data teams.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

* Manage and maintain the Snowflake database and handle data from different sources.

* Set up security and control user access for the system.

* Design and build database structures like tables, procedures, and schemas.

* Monitor performance, fix issues, and improve query speed and storage.

* Support developers and users by answering questions and guiding them.

* Evaluate tools/technologies and suggest better solutions, including data archiving.

* Perform testing, handle updates, and provide ongoing maintenance and support.

Qualifications and Education:

* Experience with Snowflake, data lakes, and AWS tools like S3 and Glue.

* Ability to set up security and manage access in Snowflake.

* Strong experience with databases such as SQL Server, Oracle, DB2, and AWS databases (RDS, DynamoDB, etc.).

* Good knowledge of query tuning, indexing, and improving database performance.

* Experience with data migration, replication, and tools like AWS DMS.

* Understanding of backup, maintenance, and database utilities.

* Good communication skills, with the ability to follow SDLC, solve problems, and work independently.

* Prior experience migrating databases from on-premise data centers to the cloud is preferred
