JOB GOAL: To create a flexible school program and a classroom environment favorable to individualized learning and personal growth and self-esteem.
Term of Employment: Based on Summer School Schedule
Hours: 15 hours/week 8:00 – 11:45 (3.75 Hours) Mondays through Thursdays
Out of district teacher pay: $23.50 per hour
OASD teacher pay: $30.00 per hour
OASD teacher pay with 5 consecutive years of summer instruction: $35.00 per hour
DESCRIPTION:
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. A current Wisconsin teaching certification is required.
2. Students who will be completing student teaching prior to June are welcome to apply.
3. The ability to work the entire summer school session – any exceptions must be pre-approved.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Perform teaching duties in a professional manner.
2. Establish rapport with staff.
3. Apply/incorporate district curriculum guides and use Board of Education approved goals and objectives.
4. Develop goals, objectives and daily lesson plans with Board of Education approved curriculum.
5. Plan for ongoing assessment of student performance.
6. Specify learning objectives.
7. Teach to objectives.
8. Provide effective learning activities and experiences.
9. Provide feedback to students and parents.
10. Demonstrate knowledge of subject matter.
11. Provide closure to lessons and activities.
12. Evaluate student progress and follow district Board of Education approved reporting guidelines.
13. Maintain the physical environment provided in ways that are safe and conducive to instruction and learning.
14. Demonstrate effective classroom management and communicate with parents and administration regarding discipline problems.
15. Direct activities in an orderly fashion.
16. Follow Board of Education approved policies and administrative guidelines.
17. When applicable, implement State of Wisconsin standards/mandates, (i.e., integrate computer literacy, economic education, health education, environmental education, guidance, drug and alcohol prevention, education for employment, and safety education into all areas of the curriculum).
18. Create an effective learning environment through functional and attractive displays of student work, bulletin boards, and other interest areas.
19. Have conferences with parents as needed.
20. Emphasize higher order thinking skills.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform other duties as determined by Lead Teacher/Summer School Principal/ESY Coordinator.
