EL Teacher


The ideal candidate for this role is a highly collaborative, innovative, and community-focused educator who is passionate about creating a dynamic learning environment for students in grades K-5, particularly in the area of Multi-Lingual teaching. This unique opportunity involves teaching in a brand-new, studio-style elementary school.

 

Key Responsibilities

Scholar Support & Instruction

This role focuses on facilitating deeper learning through student-driven collaboration. You will:

  • Provide instruction and support in curriculum areas, including writing and implementing EL goals and objectives.
  • Evaluate scholar performance according to the EL goals and objectives.
  • Promote scholar achievement and maintain required scholar records.
  • Make appropriate and equitable use of instructional resources and technologies.
  • Implement the goals and objectives of the district and the school and/or program for which you are employed.
  • Provide in-person, synchronous, and asynchronous learning when applicable.

 

Collaboration & Community 

You will be a community connector, building strong relationships and fostering collaboration with all stakeholders. Your responsibilities include:

  • Analyzing data with colleagues to develop targeted student interventions.
  • Maintaining consistent communication with students' guardians and caregivers.
  • Leveraging local resources and inviting community members into the classroom to enrich learning.
  • Integrating student leadership development.

  


Qualifications & Requirements

Minimum Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • A valid Minnesota teaching license in an appropriate field (English as a Second Language) or a valid MN teaching license in another field with a willingness to obtain an Out of Field Permission.
  • If not currently licensed, you must be eligible and willing to apply for a Tier 1 or 2 license.

 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • A deep belief in collaborative learning and shared inquiry.
  • Experience with various team teaching models (e.g., co-teaching, station teaching).
  • Experience in designing and facilitating nature-infused and experiential learning.
  • A data-informed practitioner who uses assessment to guide instruction.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong, positive relationships with all stakeholders.
