Job Title: BuyerJob Description

The Buyer will work under occasional guidance from a Procurement Analyst or Category Manager to perform vehicle purchase procurement activities. This includes issuing purchase orders for Fleet Transmission and Distribution Business Units. The role requires proficiency in utilizing systems and analytical tools, as well as assisting in negotiations with suppliers to make the best procurement decisions. Developing good working relationships with assigned Business Units by understanding their operating issues and priorities is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct intermediate-level procurement of project-related equipment, vehicles, and related equipment following procurement guidelines with guidance from a Procurement Analyst or Category Manager.

  • Assist in analyzing bid proposals, negotiating with suppliers at an intermediate level, and awarding purchase orders.

  • Resolve basic discrepancies, commercial issues, change orders, or cancellations related to purchase orders.

  • Coordinate work with suppliers, Legal, Risk Management, and Business Unit partners on commercial issues, terms and conditions, and specifications with occasional guidance.

  • Support the Category Management group in supplier management and assist in the strategic agreement process by utilizing blanket orders when appropriate for projects and facilities.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Logistics, Inventory Management, or a similar discipline, or an Associate's degree with two years of procurement experience.

  • Minimum of two years of experience in buying for a variety of products and/or business units.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel (Intermediate level).

  • Strong skills in purchasing, procurement, and supply chain management.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Three or more years of purchasing experience.

  • Fleet/Vehicle Purchasing experience would be beneficial.

  • Experience with strategic agreements and supplier management.

Work Environment

The position is based at the corporate office downtown, with free parking available. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with some flexibility on start and end times. The role is fully onsite. PTO and holiday pay are included during the assignment.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $32.00/hr.
