Fixed Term – 18 months Your new employer Proper Crisps produces premium artisan crisps predominately for the New Zealand and Australian markets. Using the finest natural ingredients and having a huge emphasis on quality has led to Proper Crisps being one of the leading snack food brands in New Zealand. The brand’s head office and New Zealand production facilities are in Stoke, Nelson. In addition, we use a third-party warehouse in Melbourne to service the Australian market. Your new role Reporting to the Finance & Administration Manager (FM) your primary focus will be overseeing the day-to-day accounting, compliance and reporting for Proper Crisps. Core duties will involve: * Financial reporting including meeting strict parent reporting deadlines. * Ensuring all tax and financial compliance tasks are met. * Month-end close * Journal entries * Account reconciliations * Supervision of the AP staff member * Support and cover for the Payroll function. * Support the FM with the budgeting process * Support and cover for the Sales Admin function * Participating in projects to improve financial systems and processes. What you will need to succeed You'll be a team player, with a can-do attitude, who is happy to support at all levels and will be able to demonstrate strong initiative. The possession of strong communications skills is a must in this role as you will be liaising with all areas of the business on a regular basis. It would be ideal if you are able to start on short notice however the organisation is willing to wait for the right person. Experience and qualifications you will bring to the role The following experience and qualifications are desirable for this role, however recently qualified accountants or unqualified experienced accountants with a great attitude and work ethic should also apply. * Relevant experience, tertiary qualification or CA qualified. * Advanced Excel skills are highly desirable, and knowledge of Power BI would be an advantage. * Prior experience in the preparation of financial reports, budgeting, forecasting and reconciliations. * Prior experience with PAYE, GST & FBT tax returns. * Experience with MYOB Advanced, SAP or similar ERP system would be an advantage. * Experience in a manufacturing environment would be desirable. Particularly an understanding of inventory accounting using standard costing. Salary will be based on experience.
