Funeral Director – Far North (Kaitaia) Are you looking for a meaningful career where you can make a real difference in honoring someone's life? We are committed to helping families in the North to honor their loved ones with care, dignity and respect. This is a long-term opportunity for someone who wants to be part of a team that supports families during one of the most important and difficult times in their lives. You will contribute to all aspects of funeral service, from meeting with families and arranging funerals, through to caring for the deceased and supporting services. Key Responsibilities: * Meet with families to arrange and direct funeral services * Liaise with celebrants, clergy, florists, caterers, councils, and other stakeholders * Data entry, documentation and registrations. * Proficient with computers, with the ability to manage systems and digital tasks effectively * Hygienic temporary preservation and presentation of the deceased * Assist with Coronial transfers * Funeral vehicle preparation and upkeep * General presentation and upkeep of facilities and grounds * Availability to work on a rotating on-call basis, including nights and weekends What we’re looking for someone who meets these requirements: *Full Clean Drivers License *Clean police record * Skills and Experience - in funeral directing or mortuary experience preferred * Strong sense of commitment and integrity, with a proven work ethic * Professional, compassionate and confident manner * Excellent communication and customer service skills * Strong organisational and time management abilities * Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team * Respectful of different cultures, religions and personal beliefs * Physically fit and resilient under pressure * Local and geographical knowledge of the North (advantageous) * Administration and event planning experience * Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability * Creative thinking and initiative What we offer: Full-time, permanent role based in Kaitaia * Training and support * Competitive remuneration package The opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the Far North community.
