Electrical Specialist- Supply Chain

Job Description

SUMMARY

Working under general supervision, the Electrical Specialist performs support functions for electrical power distribution systems supplying power for retail merchandise supply chain conveying and sortation systems to ensure the efficient flow of merchandise in and out of the facility.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The support mentioned above includes, but is not limited to, the following duties and responsibilities.

  • Maintains and repairs electrical equipment including, but not limited to substations, power distribution panels, lighting panels, generators and motors.
  • Create sketches of electrical circuits using specialized computer programs, as well as documentation based on the schematics and wiring plans for each device.
  • Label circuit wiring, test and monitor equipment for compliance with engineering specifications, and identify operational problems.
  • Installs, trouble shoots, maintains and repairs electrical equipment including, but not limited to, power distribution switches and panels.
  • Assists other technicians in the performance of maintenance activities and/or provides training/guidance.
  • Electronically logs scheduled inspection reports of the operating equipment, fixed building equipment and building structures, maintenance, repairs and other records and schedules.
  • Follows federal, state and local electrical and building codes when planning and conducting work.
  • Adheres to all operational, loss prevention and safety standards which includes Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

BASIC AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Working knowledge of the principles, methods, techniques and tools used in troubleshooting, repairing and testing electrical power distribution systems and components.
  • Journeyman’s or Master license is preferred.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, JOB SKILLS, ABILITIES

  • At least 5 years’ experience.
  • Proficient knowledge and ability to adhere to electrical regulations.
  • Working knowledge of the National Electric Code.
  • Working knowledge of electrical power distribution systems.
  • Proficient ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams and panel layouts.
  • Proficiency with electrical circuit test instruments.
  • Associates Degree or Certification in the Electrical trade preferred
