Based in New Britain and serving veterans across Connecticut, this role will support our direct services programs while serving as a key brand ambassador. You'll be responsible for strengthening legislative ties at all levels, cultivating partnerships with community providers and the VA, and ensuring our team is deeply integrated into local Chambers of Commerce and Continuums of Care. We are looking for a proactive leader who is always vigilant for new opportunities to grow our impact and better serve those who served.
WHAT YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR DAY TO DAY:
- LeadershipManagement: Oversee regional staff, driving performance through active supervision, professional development, and strategic hiring in partnership with HR.
- Grant ComplianceReporting: Ensure all programs meet state and federal regulations (VA, DOL, DVS); maintain audit-ready documentation and hit all performance targets.
- Service Delivery: Guarantee high-quality support for veterans and their families, including housing stabilization, employment training, and essential referrals.
- Strategic Outreach: Act as the primary regional ambassador to build lasting relationships with the VA, community providers, and legislative partners.
- OperationsBudgeting: Manage day-to-day facility operations and regional finances, ensuring safety, efficiency, and strict adherence to budgetary goals.
- Mission Expansion: Collaborate on marketing and fundraising initiatives to promote the Veterans Inc. brand and identify new growth opportunities.
WHAT YOU MUST HAVE:
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a related field. Documented management/leadership experience in veterans services, program management, social work, human services, or homelessness prevention may be considered in lieu of educational requirements.
- Minimum of four (4) years' experience in social work, counseling, substance abuse prevention, vocational rehabilitation, outreach, and/or services to the homeless.
- Minimum of two (2) years' management or supervisory experience required.
- You must have a valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle for travel.
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Must be able to pass a background records check.
